Our Story

River Media Partners’ (RMP) inception stemmed from a demand within the industry for a hands-on approach that caters to the needs of both established and emerging sports entities.

Since then, we have been dedicated to delivering tailored solutions that cater to the unique requirements of our clients in the ever-evolving world of sports.

2020

In response to the pandemic, RMP launched the UK Pro Series - now UK Pro League - the country’s first and only professional domestic competition for rising British players in 2020. 

The inaugural, closed-door tournament was created due to the lack of competitive opportunities at the time, and was first won by 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu and Liam Broady

Now welcoming spectators, its continued success has led to a working partnership with the LTA to develop the tournament as a key part of the British tennis calendar across the year. 

RMP managed the media rights to English rugby union’s Greene King Championship and women’s Premier 15 club tournaments in a deal with England’s Rugby Football Union. RMP continues to work with Rugby Europe, the administrative body for rugby union in Europe, on the development of its club and international competitions.

RMP also signed partnerships with BT Sport Films, Premier Sports and Stats Perform, along with FitMg, Raceix, SportsMedia Ventures, 26West Sport and 3Rock Production.

2021

RMP was appointed as SweetSpot Group’s official broadcast agents for the UK & Ireland to continue to enhance the broadcast and distribution of the Tour of Britain, Women’s Tour and Tour Series. RMP worked alongside host broadcaster ITV Sport on the coverage of all of SweetSpot’s marquee races in addition to assisting with the distribution of content and exploring additional broadcast streams and opportunities.

RMP brokered the partnership between Eterlast - the global fan engagement and digital entertainment studio - and Queensberry Promotions, the leading UK boxing promotion run by Frank Warren. The agreement facilitated the creation of the Eterlast-operated platform "House of Boxing"; the work done by RMP has established House of Boxing as the destination gamification and fan engagement platform for boxing fans.

2022

Alongside Infront, RMP was appointed to distribute the international media rights for the Heineken Champions Cup and European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) Challenge Cup for the next three seasons. Ahead of the opening season, broadcast rights for both tournaments had been distributed to broadcasters in over 100 countries.

2023

RMP continues its partnership with World Rugby, the world governing body for Rugby Union, to advise on its data rights strategy for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France with an aim to fully reshape World Rugby’s data offering for the betting and media market by the 2031 Rugby World Cup in the USA.

RMP has partnered with E1, the first electric raceboat championship, the first electric raceboat championship, to advise on global media partnership strategy ahead of their world championship launch in early 2024.
